Kadapa name is historic – transformed as kadapa from the word gadapa (Gateway to the Lord’s abode Turumala Seven Hills in Eastern Ghats). Kadapa town or district is not created by Dr YSR. In the past i.e., during Monarchy, kings or queens only used to keep their name for the town that is created/developed by them. The kadapa district has very long history and many eminent personalities such as Sree Madvirat Potuluri Veera Brahmendra Swamy, Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya, Yogi Vemana etc are from this district. Changing the name of historic district is not a way to remember a person. There are various other good and simple ways to remember a great personality – by really following the principles proposed by that great person, Celebrating birth anniversary, set-up of memorial parks/stupa, providing services to the poor on behalf the great person etc are also highly respectful, valuable and useful to the society/country.
